Just wanted to acknowledge the heck of a time I had this weekend up at Eric's. He hosted a blogmeet just north of Chattanooga where thirty or so fine souls gathered to compare notes and enjoy good food drink......and pop a few rounds from his collection of firearms.
Really had a good time, guys. Thanks so much, Eric.

John, you are a true Renaissance Man.
Never mind the art. Pool, bongos, and firebuilding!
It was a great weekend. On the Cox Suck-O-Meter, it definitely did not suck.

HEY REDNECK
Bacck atcha. If it weren't for you, I'd still be thawing these tootsies.
NOTE TO SELF: When a hotel fire alarm goes off, YOU HAVE MORE THAN TEN SECONDS TO GETS SOME CLOTHES ON.
Great meeting you, dude.

HEY JIM
Man, you got some serious percussion going on. You sounded better on the back of your guitar than I did on my set of bongos!
It was a privilege jamming with you guys.

HEY ELLISON
Nice shootin' for a poet! You might need a little work on that 9mm. Ballons have never felt safer!
Looking forward to catching you guys again. I'm sleeping outdoors next time.

HEY GARANDFAN
We shot a military 9MM (my favorite), a .45, a AR-15 (LOOOOUUUUD!) and pump action shotgun....kind of military-looking...don't remember the gauge, probably a 12.
Western Tennessee: where men are men and the balloons are nervous.

OOPS!
That's EASTERN Tennessee.

Glad you guys all had a blast. Those are some great folks there...

It was terrific to meet you! What a blast it was and now we have stories to last for years.
Yeah, shoes are a good thing. Don't leave home without 'em. ;-)

Was good to see you again, John. Extra-special thanks for not screaming in panic during the drive home. Not even once! Hehe...
Don't forget to check out Southern Culture On The Skids. They're playing this week in ATL and I may head down to The Earl to see the show. I really think they ought to be the official band of the Jawja bloggers.

Cool meeting you - and parking lot chatting with you pre-fire. Besides, you liked my clog-story, so there's that! :)

Yeah John, you got more the ten seconds... I took two minutes tryin' to mute the noise after lookin' out the door before I decided to suit up.
Glad I had the cooler in the truck bed though... Standin' 'round scratchin' sack had never really been my thing...
But, I do hate cold feet.
