and now a word from Lenny Bruce...

For all you youngsters out there, do yourself a favor and try to find some performance clips from Lenny Bruce. He practically invented hipster firebrand humor.

My .02 is that we can thank Lenny for all the foul-mouthed talk that passes for "humor" today.

Lenny was considered 'edgy'. But even he went overboard in the end.

John Cox:

Hey G

You say "foul-mouthed", I say it was typical language heard in the streets.

I guess you could say he ushered out the squeaky clean tv humor and replaced it with night club raunch. It's not like he invented profanity.

IMHO, I would have preferred that humor which relied on such language stayed in the streets. However, supply does not create demand. What is considered acceptable language or material in entertainment couldn't degenerate without a degenerate audience.

John Cox:

Hey T

I thought I'd hear about the content of the quote, not the man's career path.

I was delighted how this observation punctures so many gas bags.

Turned out Bruce was VERY GOOD at that.

Darned good quote. The guy obviously wasn't an idiot. However, I think a person would have to be an idiot to fail to understand Liberals.

OPEN NOTE TO LIBERALS (modern "Progressives", not the classically liberal):

We understand you. You're wrong, therefore we disagree with you. Understand?

Doc Al:

That's great, it starts with an earthquake;
Birds and snakes, an aeroplane;
Lenny Bruce is not afraid.

Timing is everything.

He,This is a great and usefull blog.Keep up the good work.

I got what you intend, saved to my bookmarks , very decent site.

Merely wanna comment on few general things, The website style is perfect, the subject material is real great : D.

I loved as much as you'll receive carried out right here. The sketch is tasteful, your authored material stylish. nonetheless, you command get bought an shakiness over that you wish be delivering the following. unwell unquestionably come more formerly again since exactly the same nearly very often inside case you shield this hike.

Hands down, Apple's app store wins by a mile. It's a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I'm not sure I'd want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
