Shalom John:
Your women are always so beautiful in your paintings, and I enjoy them very much.
I love art but I'm quite illiterate in the subject. Something has always bothered me: Men's artistic creation of the female is always beautiful and sensuous, even nudes. Women who paint The Woman, particularly nudes, are quite uncomplimentary and usually ugly. Some I have seen have put Picasso to shame -- although I never found Picasso's that uncomplimentary.
I find this disturbing in women's art.
Do you have any idea why this is?

Hey Yo
Men tend to be more romantic than women. And it is probably some sort of competitive "payback" for the artist.
Just a guess.

My experience has been that, generally speaking, female "artsy" types are bitter feminist kooks who are carrying a lot of emotional baggage, & everything they do in life is a defiant "statement" against the "male-controlled establishment".
Is that what you meant by competitive "payback"?
