Man - I LOVED those big blocky Checker cabs! They had plenty of room for two passengers with carry-on luggage or a parent with a couple of little kids - not like those older Chevy Caprices or Ford "Crown Vics". Every once in a while, I'd run into some "odd wad" who drove a "civilian" version of those big, old Checker sedans as his (it was always a guy) personal vehicle. Usually, he had a large family (four or more kids).
