
Adding another layer of "grime" puts the focal area farther back into the "stone" wall. Since I'm shooting for a trompe l'oeil effect, "Build. Destroy. Rebuild." is my theme.
The next phase will be putting new shadows and highlights into the face.

Adding the eye in the lower left gives the work an omniscient feel...very stirring.

Holy crap, man...I could have sworn you were making a faint closeup of a face...eye, eyebrow, hairline above that, and the bridge of the nose running down to the center of the canvas. You say it's accidental...now it just seems creepy. :)
