The Idea Takes Hold

Every once in a while, I'll shoot a photo that has the roots of a nice painting. This is my friend Kimberly Jurgen, a local actress. She was gracious enough to sit for me one fine day near Emory University.

Terwiliger:

Maybe you could get a good painting out of it...but some things are not easy to improve upon. Lovely photo.

GarandFan:

John, nice composition. Just out of curiosity, how do you get that color tone on the print?

HEY GARANFAN

There's commercial photo development place downtown that can take black and white photo negatives and turn out sepia-toned prints.

Of course, i tweaked it a tad in PhotoShop. Added contrast.

Bill:

Pretty much sums up MY mood today!

Kevin:

I had the honor of sharing the stage with Kimberly in a production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. She's a wonderful actor and person, and you've captured her very well in this photo. Good job.

HEY KEVIN

Wow! It must have been a pleasant shock to see her pop up out of nowhere.

Do you live in Atlanta?
