I'm fascinated by the differences between Islam's view of women and the West's.

Congratulations on expanding your influence.

The painting on the Islamic view of women vs our own is stunning.

The entire concept of using high art to communicate in this manner needs to be encouraged.

Best of luck in your new venture.

David

Thanks for the kind words. I hope to bring a fresh perspective to canvas work by introducing editorial-styled images.

Let's see what happens, eh?

Sarah N:

I do like the fusion of classic and editorial cartoon here. It's interesting that when I see this, I immediately think how beautiful the western representation is, and I wonder how anyone could repress that. Your ideas certainly come across through the expression on the man's face. I think I prefer the version on the Cordair website with the two shadowy figures. It still has the juxtaposition of styles, but there is less editorializing. It allows the audience to decide for themselves what they think. Is the western image really more beautiful or is it slightly obscene? Who's to say?
