Terwiliger:

Actually, I suggested, "and now a word from Sting & [insert politician name here]."

Naturally, I had a particular politician in mind, but the truth is I can't think of a politician who at one time or another wouldn't fit the bill.

John--being the sagacious artiste he is--clearly realized that & did it this way (which, in retrospect, I like better anyway, as it's more "open" & oddly ironic in regards to context).

Zeroth:

Mauser:

"To be is to do"-Socrates

"To do is to be"-Sartre

"Do Be Do Be Do"-Sinatra

Oh hell, why not?

I am that "x".
Therefore I think.
Therefore I am.

I yam what I yam.: Popeye

Ed B:

Now why was I even thinking Popeye? Well, I mentally stuck a corn cob pipe in that face, and for just a split second there...
