Illustration Friday Entry: FEROCIOUS

IF-ferocious.jpg

Ugandan President Idi Amin was a ferocious, murderous head of state who was responsible for the termination of hundreds of thousands of lives between 1971-1979.

Dr. Bob:

Oh man that's a flash-back to a piece of evil garbage.

I remember Johnny Carson and his joke about somebody "being a charter member of the Idi Amin fan club" and I think another on Johnny's lines was "A coup that is known in advance is a coup that does not take place".

It is fitting that your graphic shows him looking over his shoulder out of the corner of his eye at the blackness he's left behind himself - as if somebody would sneak close to exact justice.

Terwiliger:

I've been reading pretty voraciously for the past few months. It's surprising how either much of the artwork or many of the comments (or both) resonate(s) with other things & holds implications for "modern" times--take the direction of our gubmint, for example:

“The wisest thing in the world is to cry out before you are hurt. It is no good to cry out after you are hurt; especially after you are mortally hurt. People talk about the impatience of the populace; but sound historians know that most tyrannies have been possible because men moved too late. It is often essential to resist a tyranny before it exists.” – G. K. Chesterton

P. S. The "punch line" to my post on the previous thread: I was making a WAY too obscure analogy between a goofy cult & the "third eye" (which is part of their hybrid doctrine). I learned of it only recently from a loon on the street.

T again:

I was a kid when that guy was in power, but I was shocked at how evil I eventually learned that guy was contrasted with how the media had portrayed him so long as a sort of "eccentric, amiable, self-aggrandizing dunce."

Uh... yeah. Reagan's a Nazi--but Idi, Joseph, Mao, Adolph, Mussolini--they were just well-intentioned socialists who were so frustrated by the opposition to their good intentions they were "turned into" tyrants by the "evil" opposition.

The "Progressive" excuse train is ready to leave the station. How much longer before our gubmint completely turns on us?

GarandFan:

"How much longer before our gubmint completely turns on us?"

"Fast and Furious"?

You sure captured the essence of this guy.

Yo

Cowboy:

Hey T!!!
Our Gubmint has already turned on us. Been to an airport lately? If anyone doesn't think that BHO is all about the proletariat versus the bourgeois, I don't know what to tell them. The problem is most people don't understand what I just said.... P. vs. B.

FYI. The Great BHO was in my city today (Denver)so he could have a political prop in front of an inter-city high school. Flew in, did a 20 minute stump speech about his fricking bill (which isn't a bill), and flew out, what cost I have no idea. This shut the entire city down for rush hour. Thanks AH.

It’s exhausting to find knowledgeable people on this matter, however you sound like you know what you’re talking about! Thanks

Terwiliger:

COWBOY:

I know they've turned on us, but not COMPLETELY (YET--although I fear it is inevitable). We can still speak out against the oligarchy, & we can still work within [arbitrary] guidelines [that allow incompetents & malcontents to remain in office too long] to remove incumbents from office without being exterminated by the Federali.

The Constitution grants us further recourse--& I expect that as soon as I hit the "post" button, I'm going to be subjected to some VERY close scrutiny--as outlined by Alexander Hamilton in Federalist #28 (note ¶ 5 through ¶ 10).

The problem is that American society has become so fragmented--& surveillance so invasive--that organizing a real resistance is impossible (& to do so at the individual level is not only suicide, but is also a perfect set-up for furthering the water-carrying media nomenklatura's anti-self-defense/collectivist agenda).

Cowboy:

T.
And the press, for the most part, is a complete sham, which takes another leg out of the stool.

GarandFan:

All it takes is ENOUGH people, ALL pissed off at the same time.

Right now the left is thrashing around, accomplishing nothing in the way of "winning hearts and minds". Just the opposite.

Even the regular trolls on some of the conservative blogs I visit don't appear to have much fire in their bellies. After one particular lengthy knock on The One, all one of the KA drinkers could say was "OH YEAH!"

Unfortunately, they can still cause damage between now and 2013. Stevie Chu is out spending "Stimulus" money as fast as he can before Sept 30th. But trust him, he'll get it right. He'll take the time to make sure all those "green" companies are worth the financial risk. After all, he's got until midnight on the 30th. No rush, like with Solyndra, where they had to meet an arbitrary political broadcast deadline.
