Time now to dream the ascent

Hey John: How about this thought? The kid with the telescope represents Israell sitting on a pyramid looking at Egypt's future.

HEY TOM
Neat angle. That gives it an editorial vibe that certainly is appropriate for the times.

Did anybody pay attention to the text on the hat? Words of doom & gloom, the crown is contradictory to the brim, & one fragment can be read from the brim to the crown (& it's a good summary of what newspapers truly are).
I was stumped for the "Haiku What" until I scaled the image up.
This image seems subtle, but it has grown on me. This has become one of my favorite illustrations you've done, John.
This kid looks like he'd be a great character for a children's book--maybe a fable that had implications for adults as well (like Aesop).
