Given the 'fly by' in NYC today, they can't think straight either.

GF
I caught the back end of what appeared to be an indignant Robert Gibbs dodging questions from the press corps. I had no idea what it was about until I read your post here & "searched" the topic.
Is it any surprise that an administration hell-bent on grinding their opposition in the ground at any cost--including jeopardizing national security by sensationalizing the relatively humane way we treat the swine who show absolutely no regard for the Geneva Convention--would be utterly & absolutely insensitive to the citizens of a city--in their own country--that was the recent victim of an international terror attack?
I did catch the Monday teleprompter gaff at the National Academy of Sciences (on C-SPAN). I wonder if Obama knows he could gain more control over his speeches if he switched to PowerPoint & used a hand-held remote.
Then somebody tells me that Arlen Specter "defects" (he's been defective for a long time now)...& then somebody has to update me about the Norm Coleman/Al Franken debacle...
...I had been trying my darnedest to tune out politics, but people keep calling & asking me, "Have you heard what they've done now?" Then I'm so disgusted I can't even sleep.
Them tea parties sho' did fix a lot, boy howdy--they was just like the one where we done git our democracy from London.
I'm kind of hoping this climate change thing takes hold so we can establish a new republic in Antarctica.

"T", I know it's hard, just try to keep 'perspective'. What with Gibb's continuous "I'll check, I don't know", to the teleprompter gaff(s), etc., the hilarity factor is what keeps me going. At some point the American public is going to wake up to this comedy. The backlash will be tremendous.

GF:
I think I have things pretty much in perspective. Considering the American "big picture"--from conception to Constitution to now--we are dangerously close to the crash point at the end of a 233-year downward spiral.
Obama is the 5th president in succession from the beginning of the (extremely short-lived) Reagan-Conservative revival. That makes him the "modern" equivalent of Nero. The parallels from there--especially the consolidation of power--are uncanny. Scapegoat the Conservatives & throw them to the dogs.*
Be it ever so crumbly, there's no place like Rome...
Nero, he was the emperor, the palace was his home...
But he liked to play with matches, and for a fire yearned...
So he turned Rome to ashes and fiddled while it burned.
~ Bugs Bunny
*It's allegory, folks. Admittedly, some of the leaps & comparisons are ridiculous. I really don't think Obama is a complete analog for Nero... but if the comparison was a game of horseshoes, he'd be a leaner. ( :
