Interesting. John, how do you get the textured effect on this?

BTW, this guy isn't an Obama fan is he?


That's a layer of spackling material layed on masonite board. I applied the goop with a piece of cardboard to get the surface somewhat smooth.

Once it dried, I painted the figure with oil, then covered the whole thing with a thin layer of sienna and ochre.



I don't think he's an Obama fan. My guess is he's a Cretan, not a cretin.

Texture to the extreme! Every time a see a Minotaur image I think of "Time Bandits" and that weirdly surreal fight scene with Sean Connery. This one especially looks like that.


Yeah! Great movie. I always think of the midgets dancing for Napoleon.
