How dare you set a trap for me, my uncle helped liberate Auschwitz!

HEY CRANIAC
Are you comparing the rodent to the Allied Forces? The Jews?
I hope there's more to that joke than first meets the eye.
Care to 'splain...on the chance that I'm just being too obtuse to get the joke?

Terwilliger...
It's an Obama reference... Obama's dire need to implement himself and his heritage with dramatic historical events.
At one of his latest public events, he claimed that his uncle helped liberate Auschwitz, when in fact, it was the Russians that did it.
As far as I can tell, there was no racial or anti-Semitic intent in Craniac's comment, just a well-deserved jab at Obama

I can see Barack Obama spinning the story about his uncle helping liberate Auschwitz to be some sort of trap from the "Vast Right Wing Conspiracy".
So...the rat is Barack blaming everyone else for trying to trap him by using his own words. So yes, the caption has several meanings. No Anti-semitic intent!
Eric 4x4 was correct.

THANKS ALL FOR THE CLARIFICATION
I hadn't heard that one.
I forced myself to listen to a couple of Obama speeches earlier in the year...at first I was able to laugh at him--now I feel a strong urge to vomit every time I hear him (but then again, Hillary, McCain, & Dubya all affect me the same way).
I pretty much tuned out of politics for good this year (& I'm happier for it--I have no problem understanding why John & Allen discontinued C&F) when the Republicans could do no better than McCain...I was cautiously hopeful for Ron Paul for about 2 minutes, but he was painful to watch.
The last "Man, what gall" moment I heard about was via a friend who TIVOed Hillary's "I'm hanging around just in case Obama doesn't make it through June" Kennedy comparison.

“Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want and deserve to get it good and hard.” – H. L. Mencken
“Under democracy one party always devotes its chief energies to trying to prove that the other party is unfit to rule—and both commonly succeed, and are right…The United States has never developed an aristocracy really disinterested or an intelligentsia really intelligent. Its history is simply a record of vacillations between two gangs of frauds.” – H. L. Mencken
