Illustration Gig

This is a little job I did for Allen Forkum's "Automotive Report", trying to get the idea of "more advertising is good" across to his automotive industry costumers.

Having been to biz school many moons ago, you've hit the nail on the head as far as management goes when they 'cost cut'.

Tom Wms.:

Great job, John. But then, I am a little prejudiced.

I agree with GARANDFAN's observation regarding cost cutting.

However, the cartoon has more of a quality management (TQM for you bidness skrool types) kind of vibe than a marketing/advertising feel.

It's a well-crafted slogan that pulls it all together (& don't get me wrong--that's a very good 'toon as well).

Selling advertising, I'd be playing up a visibility-versus-lack-of-visibility thing (use of camo or maybe a dufus with a poorly folded map)...something that communicates, "If they can't find you, the point is moot."

With my dinky screen, I didn't see the "ADVERTISING" bar on the manifold cover until after I hit the "Post" button.

Strike that previous comment.

Mea culpa.
