I've been quite shocked at the sheer number of people (all Obama supporters, of course) who (1) aren't aware of how diabolical this administration is & (2) how good they think things really are.
A few weeks ago (right after the ACORN scandal hit the fan), I started asking my Democrat friends if they'd heard about it. Not a ONE of them even knew what I was talking about.
I got the idea to tape a few weeks of Glen Beck's show & edit together a continuous tape of the meaty stuff (minus Beck's goofball dramatic meanderings) & loaned out a copy or two (IMO Beck's a bit of a lightweight, but he's leagues above O'Reilly & Hannity, & if he was any more substantial--especially on the administration & its ties--he'd be too much for a lot of people to take).
The look on the faces of those friends ranged from the expression you'd get from a 45-year-old who still believes in Santa learning that there's no such thing--to abject red-faced wrath (mostly to cover their embarrassment, although a few were scrambling for some bit of evidence that would allow them to hold onto ideological foundation).
Then there are the "I'm voting for Obama because I hate George Bush" bunch. Most of them have gone into hiding over sheer embarrassment over their stupidity.
THE SAD THING IS THIS:
I believe that if McCain had won the presidential election, Congress would have had no qualms in passing the original omnibus health-care bill, McCain would have signed it (along with the stimulus bill) & the "4th plantation" would be piling the blame for it's failure on McCain (instead of running CYA 24/7 for Obama & Congress).
As a country, we're too focused on Presidents. The majority of the blame for the first 6 years of the Bush administration falls directly on Republicans, but the extreme bloat of the last two years of the Bush administration came under a DEMOCRAT House & Senate. The accelerated bloat we're facing now is under a full Democrat Reich.
I do not like John McCain. I'm a republican--not a Republican. I hold out hope that Republicans will return to republicanism, but if McCain had won in 2008, I believe it would have been the death knell for the Republican Party, & we conservatives/libertarians would soon be on a forced march to a labor camp.
I'm actually beginning to feel GLAD that Obama won the 2008 election. It's forcing Democrats to face the practicality (or lack thereof) of time-tested, always-failed socialist claptrap. The fear of lost-incumbency on all of those faces in Washington in priceless.
Who would have thought that the absence of a scapegoat would be enough to check the power of the legislative branch?

Thanks for putting up with me--& "Believe it or don't"--I'm holding back in a BIG way.
I like putting this stuff here because--unlike the "talking head" blogs--[what I think] are good ideas don't get buried in a cacophony of sheeple bleating & repeating the host's (or hosts') rhetoric.
I identified strongly with the C & F stuff, & the continuity you've been able to maintain is nice.
At the bottom of it, I'm inspired by art that moves me (as Tolstoy wrote, "communicates in a medium that language is not sufficient for"), & comedy makes me think (I think Harvey Walpole paraphrased some dead ancient Greek guy who said "Comedy makes you think").
Add to that a fairly small community of posters (I don't get why this site isn't as overrun as many lesser pages) who are sagacious & fun to bounce ideas off of, & it's a trifecta for me.
If you ever feel like I'm detracting from the site, just say the word & I'll curtail (I'm hopefully getting near the end of a long, drawn-out process where I'll be providing my own my bandwidth).

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass' favor.

I'll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like 'Mixview' that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you're listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of "neighbors" will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune "Social" is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
