Castigated by a chaotic blood feud in his home system, Garparra, Cortez strikes out for the legendary Boovian Mines of Helix 12 with his Ranger Class White Witch and his assassin droid, Stric9.
I'm afraid I'll be shutting down the COMMENT THREADS for a week or so to stop the overwhelming invasion of spam trash on this website.
Please continue to pop in and see my daily output, but be advised, you can do so without without leaving your pithy insights. Hopefully, I'll get back to hearing from you once I work out a solution to this maddening problem.
Until then, I'll miss your participation, but be assured I'll know you're out there.
This is just a pause in the commentary, that's all; the artwork is still a daily thing. I'll be updating the situation as it continues. Peace.
Maybe there's a piece you've seen in my archives that would light up the ol' den if it was reproduced BIG?
Comment thread is SHUT DOWN INDEFINITELY.
I've been exploring intriguing ways to capture texture and shadow with a "fill-in-the-blank" kind of narrative.
Over the last few years, I've developed an interest in designing and crafting faux stone chess boards. I recently completed this one for Devon. It's 24" in diameter, 1 1/2" thick and rendered with oil paint on a round birch table top.
If you think you might enjoy owning a customized chess board and find creative collaboration a kick, please contact me at my e-mail address (john555cox@hotmail.com) to discuss details.
Once I retain some studio space, I'd like to pursue a body of work the explores trompe l'oeil wall surfaces with bold figure studies that reflect the beauty and angst of city streets. This piece is a combination watercolor study (wall) graphite study (figure) that I created in Photoshop. This would make a sweet 6ft x 4ft painting, I think.
This is my rendition of a working class cargo ship on its annual run to the Beatrix System.
