You might have noticed I haven't posted anything new for three days now. Well. Sunday night, I suffered a myocardial infarction. Spent three fun-filled days at Emory recovering. Angioplasty was a success. Many pills to gobble. No smoking, no drinking for a long long time.
I'll get back to drawing in a day or two.

Hey John:
I ached to my bones when I read this. I am so sorry you had to go through it, but it's good to hear you made it though & you're improving.
Love you, man (in an agápē kind of way).
Godspeed

Jesus Christ, dude. Feel better, and no more of these myocardial infarctions. Please. Wishing you all the best for a complete recovery.

John, sorry to hear the news, but I am really glad you are on the mend. If I could draw, I'd come down and do your site for you, but a straight line with a ruler is hard for me. GET WELL!

Amen to the others' comments. Hopefully no serious and lasting damage was done. Emory is good.
Was really concerned because it's not like you to just disappear.
Hope you got a shirt from the Emory coronary care unit... so you can say "been there, done that, got the t-shirt!"
Take care!

Whew! Close one! But at least it's good to see you have ONE vice left you can take back up immediately.

Get better soon. Looks like you are going to have to give up all of your vices. I know the feeling.

Mr. Rogero:
He won't have to give up all of his vices - just the fun ones.
But seriously, John, take care of yourself. We just lost Breitbart; we don't want to lose you.

Take the time you need to get healthy again. Will miss your drawings and sense of humor. Rather you get back to 100% though.
Take care and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Hey Big Guy! Take care of yourself, we want you around for a long time.
Looking for the silver lining, at least you don't have a chest zipper like I do. ;)

From one Jan 13th kid to another: Been there, done that, have the t-shirt. Heart attacks are just no fun at all...
Take the time to do it right, "and don't let the bastard win!" (thanks, BF Pierce...)

HEY EVERYBODY
Thank you for encouraging messages. I debated revealing the news because it smacks of not taking responsibility for my health, as if moderation of unhealthy habits would allow me to enjoy them longer.
Wrong.
I blew it. And now I'll do something good about it.
Your lovely messages of concern for my welfare is deeply appreciated. This website has been dedicated to the idea that discerning minds enjoy creative participation. I'm so glad we can continue....

John,
Get a copy of "NO More Heart Disease" by Dr. L Ignarro. He won Nobel Prize in medicine for what's in the book.

I'm so glad to hear you survived that attempt on your life and that you're developing healthier habits so we can all enjoy you for many years to come. :-)
