While I don't agree with the characterization, the first person that came to my semi-deranged brain was Dick Cheney.
He was always portrayed by the corrupt leftwing media as evil and dark.
I think I'd like to sit down over a beer with Dick, but not go hunting, OK?

Looks like George C. Scott to me. It would have been interesting to see him play a part in a dark fantasy with "modern" special effects.
