The book title and artwork was done by Devon. Maybe he has a story in mind...
His illustration was done with table salt on black paper. You may notice flecks of pepper in there, too. His illustration has a spooky underwater vibe that sets the mood for an international thriller that contains manhunts and highly-trained assassins.
He was inspired by the remarkable artwork here.

That's really cool, Devon.
John, seems like the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, eh?

HEY DR, BOB
Devon likes to goof around with art like his old man. I happen to be a tough audience, so not ALL his stuff is "web worthy", but I certainly thought this bit had some merit. Particularly when it's framed within the context of a book cover. It's an interesting reminder of the power and influence design has on a illustration.
I'm sure Devon appreciates the kind word.

I'm an old Navy guy and I really like this! I especially like the distortion of the anchor, as if it is in murky waters. I am almost finished reading Shelby Footes trilogy, "The Civil War". The title and cover would be great for a look at the the Navy during that time.
