Book Cover Illustration Idea

You may recognize the model reference from posts past. I did this one recently, relying on a looser, quicker style of brush work.

Doc Al:

Very nice. Has a little of that Katherine-Hepburn-On-Golden-Pond-looking-out-at-the-loons look.

Ed B:

Doc:

By "loon", you mean Jane Fonda, right? (sorry, that was too easy)

John:

You achieved a wonderful texture with such simple brush work.

Steve M:

Nice-Like a Wyethy Winslow Homery watercolor...and that dang hat again.

John Cox:

HEY STEVE

Excuse me, my influences are showing.

And I firmly believe the Hobo Hat is making a return.

GarandFan:

I think she'd have looked better in the Urban Sombrero.

But it does have that neat 'unfinished' look to tie in with the title.

Terwiliger:

This one makes me regret a road not traveled. So many things I wish I'd learned how to do, so much wasted time.

If wide-brimmed boonies count for hobo hats, I'm in.

John Cox:

HEY T

Me, too. I developed a certain way and had to let other interests fall by the wayside. I guess we all should count our blessings and realize we ALWAYS have a choice.

GarandFan:

Just goes to prove that youth is wasted on the young.

Anonymous:

“All children are born geniuses. 9,999 out of every 10,000 are swiftly, inadvertently, degeniused by grown-ups.” – R. Buckminster Fuller

The biggest reason youth is wasted on the young is because so few adults have the requisite skills to properly raise & nurture them.

GarandFan:

"The biggest reason youth is wasted on the young is because so few adults have the requisite skills to properly raise & nurture them."

I disagree. The 'young' are interested in instant gratification; rarely consider the needs or wants of others, and believe they are immortal.

Hence the 'bad' decisions - later regretted as "missed opportunities".

I also believe hence , perfectly written post! .

I should write about this too.

Wow cool site
