I like the amalgam of "desperate" & "disparate". Obama in an acorn shell.
I like the "Interview with Ray Bradbury" at the end of the 50th Anniversary of Fahrenheit 451. I concur with him on the fact that the "shlock & awe" glowing blue screen "short attention span" media forms are rotting a lot of peoples' brains.

Doesn't this 'toon make the GOP the party of "PC"?
Personally, I hate the way some MAC apps commandeer data files so they can't be used with other apps--but on the other hand, I hate the gaping security holes in the MS system (as well as the tendency for MS based systems to get "congested", requiring periodic rebooting)... & LINUX is no panacea.
Most of all, I hate how technological advancements are being applied to largely useless crap like iPods & iPads (so many apps, so little usefulness), & I also hate cellphone hybrids.
IMO, 99.9999% of that garbage--as is typically used--is nothing more than "time wasters."

Somebody just offered me a Kindle on the condition that I had to use it (i.e., I couldn't sell it).
I gave it a try. As long as there are used book stores, I'm not interested.
They might be O.K. for light reading, but if you're reading something that requires either referring back to earlier passages or if you like referring to the bibliography (& other texts), it is one major pain.

Between me and my husband we've owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I've settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.
