A U.S. Army soldier wanted my work on his arm. I created a few designs and this is the one he really liked. I got a kick out the opportunity to do something so permanent.

I love the design, but I hope that pic is photoshopped or not the finished piece...the line work on the banner looks a little rough.

I expect the "EXCESS line roughness" is from artifacts that pop up in the scanning process. I'd be willing to bet that John was going for a little bit of a "weathered" or "worn coin" effect on the statue silhouette, & that accounts for the rest of it.

I'm no tattoo fan either, but I don't much care what men do to deface themselves; however, tattoos (& bellybutton "lint lures"... & brands... & tribal studs, etc.) REALLY detract from natural feminine/female beauty.

There was a good ol' Marine who played golf at the muni course where I worked when I was a kid. He had one of those old "war eagle/regiment/SEMPER FI" tattoos in the same place. He said he regretted ever getting it. He called it an "embarrassingly permanent reminder of how stupid he was when he was young."

Yup, met many a man who was trying to go through a removal once they got older. It seems so popular these days. Individualism and just a peer pressure fad, I guess. I think this waxes and wanes throughout societies and history. All these younger people today; well they'll get older too. I can only offer some off the cuff advise to them...doesn't register.

I'm not a tat fan either, but I'd love to have that on a good ol' boy redneck ballcap.
My dad had a blue star on his left hand between the thumb and forefinger. It was a Navy squadron thing from British Guiana. He regretted it later in life. I saw one man about a year ago with the same star, but did not get a chance to ask him about it.

It would make a good t-shirt as well.
I wouldn't mind wearing it on a cap, but my hat size is 8 + 1/4 to 8 + 3/8 (not very easy to find). I wore caps when I was a kid, but the only hat I have is a surplus boonie that was made too big.
