This is the fourth painting I've finished since working in my "new" studio. This one has a detailed "tiled" surface that is lost at this tiny scale.

Even though this one uses the same tools as "Equinox" (really, find something more original hoss, using common terms is pedantic)
I like this one MUCH more.
The lines all point to either vacant space, or directly to the centerpiece, and you know I love your work on stone, and this is one of the best.
The way she leans left into the darker colors of the stone, and then sorta tilts her head right, all, the while the soft calcification in the northern area is filled with the harsh angles of a false sun?
And I think you tried a little extra realism with that sun, surrounding it with superficial texture, thus the square/"diamond" pointing down.
I like it a lot.
Only criticism would be to raise the sun, and square, and grow the girl, but I don't see how the stone would allow that.

I'm with you Mike. Got several places where some art work could go. Now if only Obama will come across 'and share the wealth'. Couple hundred thousand should do the trick. I don't want to be greedy.

JOHN
Don't take my general silence on your "painting" installments as a sign of anything. I can't think of much you've done that I haven't liked--I just don't have anything constructive to add, & I booger up the other boards enough.
