Small Gig

This was an identity image I did for Michelle and Marcie Phillips, a local graphic design team I happen to meet over a beer a while back.

GarandFan:

Eye catching!

Rutager:

A graphic design team that outsources its identity image?

"Hi. I'd like to make a commercial for your marketing firm."

Hey Rutager

It turned out they were interested in my work and wondered if I would possibly be available for a style of work they don't do. This was just one idea that was for a larger array of designers and illustrators. You know....groupthink.

It went NO WHERE.

Rutager:

That's basically what I was thinking. I'd say that a graphic design firm that couldn't do its own publicity art--or wanted a publicity image that wasn't even in their own style--wouldn't be worth their salt.

It's a very cool painting, though. I especially like the translucent profile...reminds me of M's David & the Statue of Liberty.
