COMPOSED MANNEQUIN

24" x 18"
oil on masonite

This was an exercise in treating the manneqin as if it was flesh and blood-more heft and roundness. I think the dramatic lighting helps break down the stiffness that usually accompanies a typical mannequin study.

GarandFan:

Pinochino!

There's something subtly disturbing about that picture.

zonker:

You should totally rename this one. I'm thinking "John Wayne Gacy's Trunk".

Bill:

It's really quite sad!

FurryOldGuyJeans:

All I see is despair. Why do I see this as a portrait of America (and the world) in a Hillary Clinton world?

HEY GANG

No, this is not a "happy" painting. It does have a certain melancholy (on purpose, I might add). Having the mannequin scrunched into a darkened space has a captiviy thing that causes empathy.

All that out of a little wooden dude....

Kukn:

It looks like it's hurting. Pretty strong image considering it is "only an object".
