Nice. Into Greeks are we? Hee Hee!

Jon,
Can you explain some of your thought processes that go on before you decide to do something like this? I mean, why a Greek guy, a column, and a grid on a blue background? I'm just very interested in how you go about the creative process. As always, my compliments. Great work.

HEY DOUG

Ultimately, I'm just spending time on certain aetheic ideas I find interesting. I'm a big ancient architecture fan. I enjoy trying to capture those classic lines and forms. The figure has some of the same lines and forms and I just tried to experience the crossover.

I enjoy gettng a lot of texture in my work, so that is apparent in much of my fine art.

Put it all in a blender and you get this stuff. I've done a WHOLE BUNCH if this kind of work. I don't think of these pieces as individual attempts as much as they are baby steps in my development of ideas and this is just one stop along the way.

That picture arrested my attention. I just stared at it for a couple minutes before thinking of comments.

I like it.

Kukn:

Meh, I feel bad about always praising your work, but I can't help it.
Love the sea-like blue-green colour and the patch of clean blue on the right. I like the placement of the architecture and man. Most of all I was caught by the man's face - very specific and thus real, living as if.
Neat!

Joanne:

The tile pattern to it makes me think of a full 6' 3" image with feet on the floor level as the tile pattern for the shower. Yum! It is even drawn so that it'd work as a nice painting on tilea.

{^_-} (They don't call me Jolly Dirty Old Woman for nthing.)
