PRAYER OF THE SELFISH CHILD
by Shel Silverstein

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep,
And if I die before I wake,
I pray the Lord my toys to break.
So none of the other kids can use 'em....
Amen

Kukn:

Ha, brilliant poem :D
The illustration compliments it nicely with the overall fuzziness, the wild hair, the posture and picture layout.

Mitch Goodman:

Brilliant John. Love the shading suggesting early evening.

Heh, Shel Silverstein has always been a favorite of mine. I like the way you draw.

Hey

I really enjoy how visual his poetry is. You can see why his illustrations had the same wonder and energy as his words.
