GAS STATION SUSHI(1972)
O Children of Ennui
Speaketh not of Cherries
Rotting 'neath Tumescent
Jutting Throbbing Moist
Vines of Ambition
Consider the Aardvark
Hath He not a Spangled Eye
Set upon a Dangling Proboscis
Ever Poised for Contemplation
Among the Lotus Leaves?

I'm inviting any art lover who'd like to give a watercolor portrait of their dog to a special someone to let me know at john555cox@hotmail.com. We can discuss size and prices to get started. The clock is ticking....
I recently had the chance to do some pet portraiture over the weekend. I discovered I really like the challenge of transforming average photos (the details are crucial) into rich, textured pieces that still have the classic structure and design elements of my other work. I'm pretty thrilled with the prospect of exploring this genre and meeting enthusiastic pet owners. Hope to hear from you. Please contact me about artwork size and prices at john555cox@hotmail.com.
Each year-end issue of Automotive Report is a wrap-up of provocative quotes that narrate the previous 12 months in automotive land. It's always a fun challenge to create a new take on the annual article, so they tend to have a surreal twist. Publisher Allen Forkum and I wanted to focus on quotation marks as the main graphic element.
Might be a bit late for a Christmas gift this year, but I like to think y'all might consider a mixed media portraiture piece of your own ANY time. Thanks for the warm comments about this new addition to my multi-faceted art career. You can always reach me at my e-mail address, john555cox@hotmail.com if you'd like to discuss how to go about getting that special rendition of the family pet.
Note how I had to compensate for the wicked shadow that was around the Great Dane's head in the digital photo above.
Keep your head down and let 'er rip. Happy New Year, y'all!
