I had a young man in my class (yes, I'm a teacher) who looked EXACTLY like this. And yes, he was an artist. Now, just to set the record straight, I teach Electrical Engineering, not art, however I may wish to think that electronics is an art form... Anyway, this young man was dark, moody, ALWAYS wore black, and was one of the most gifted young persons I have ever met, both as a student of engineering and as an artist ( he is a sculptor).
You have caught his essence perfectly.
