Website Banner Commission

amercanized.jpg

I did this work for Martin Lindeskog, an entertaining blogger out of Gothenburg, Sweden. He enjoys discussing and promoting American ideals and his line of tea beverages over at americanized.org.

John:

Thanks again for your great work with the Americanized banner! The image is really embodying the American sense-of-life.

All the Best,

GarandFan:

Love it!

Terwiliger:

Beautiful concept & artwork. What's the car? It looks like a '57 Caddy, but I've never seen the two-tone done that way (I like to look at classic cars, but I'm not absorbed in them). The "roadscape" is quite Hopperesque (well--it all has that kind of vibe).

John Cox:

Hey T

Thanks for the good word. Martin was adamant about getting it to be quintesentially American. Interesting little balancing act. I wanted to get across open spaces plus a reference to an eclectic past.

The highlights and shadows on the '57 El Dorado make it look two-tone Not

Dr. Bob:

Very nice work, John.

John Cox:

Hey Dr. Bob

Thank you, sir. I know Martin is very pleased with it. His concept really spoke to me.

T again:

JOHN:

Sorry. I was thrown by the darker line at the edge of the reflection on the tail-fin--but the top is white, right?

John Cox:

Hey T

You are correct. sir.
