Jimi understood something that few musicians (regardless of genre) ever get; in the end, real music (or in a broader sense, art) isn't just about expression--it's about expression making it through to the listener so he/she can "experience" what is being expressed.
Jimi had no formal training, & claimed to know nothing about music notation or theory. He said he was moved by emotion, & that what he played was informed entirely by his ear. Although a good deal of it was clouded by heavy drug use, when he shined, he was really bright.

Shouldn't he be playing that tennis racket left handed and upside down? Uh... wait a minute... maybe that's one of those tribute tennis rackets that's a left handed racket that looks upside down and backwards when a right handed person plays it. Uh... wait a minute... how could I tell?
