Commission for Web Site Banner

GOTEAPARTYfinal-%28FLAT.jpg

I don't get a chance to do one of these too often. Most bloggers have a very clear idea of how the banner is going to look based on their point of view and quality of content; a visual along with some eye-catching type usually does the trick and can be done relatively easily with access to standard photos that flood the internet.

YET.....Martin Lindeskog who runs egoist.blogspot.com wanted something unique for his new blog that offers tea from around the world. Combining the lion (the town mascot for Gothenburg, Sweden) with an inviting pot of tea, the banner sneaks in a bit of whimsy as an intriguing welcome to all his brew-happy visitors.

Your great artwork will benefit my blog in a huge way! :)

Keep up your great work!

All the Best,

P.S. Got(henburg) tea? Do you have a special tea in your city / town / area?

John Cox:

HEY MARTIN

Here in Atlanta, you can sit down to a glass of "sweet tea". Its' a southern classic: iced Lipton tea, loaded with sugar with a fat wedge of lemon. It's absolutely perfect on broiling summer days.

Hey John,

Sounds tasty. You will be able to find a recipe for half-and-half lemonade with black tea on TeaParty.nu when it is up and running.

Here is a picture from the making of the beverage:

Terwiliger:

In the U.S., a half-tea/half-lemonade is called an Arnold Palmer.

I've heard it said that the tea in the South is so sweet, if you run out of syrup you can pour it over your pancakes. Being a Southern boy, that's the way I like it (& hold the lemon).

Terwiliger,

I read about the golfer Arnold Palmer and his "tee" beverage.

I like the mix of sweet and sour and I used both lemons and limes in the tea drink, together with crude sugar and brown sugar.

You could check out the recipe on TeaParty.nu in the near future!

Cheers!

Cowboy:

Something that has been left out of this conversation (And Arnold's Drink) is that except on the golf course, he slipped a shot of vodka in it too.

Cowboy,

If you add a shot of vodka, you could have a Tea Partay event! Check out these hilarious videos:

Cheers!

COWBOY:

I think you're getting Arnold Palmer mixed up with John Daly.

Something that has been left out of this conversation (And Arnold's Drink) is that except on the golf course, he slipped a shot of vodka in it too.

Terwiliger:

It was a dank & muggy night. Suddenly, a shot rang out.

A large grease spot slid down the wall, with an occasional drip as it oozed past a large hole blown in the wall by an S&W 500.

The only perceptible sound was the fading flapping of giant clown shoes as they ran off into the night...

...& the Elbonian Spam Parrot was one bird closer to the endangered species list.

Look out--Old Flinchy is back.
