TOP:16" x 11", watercolor on illustration board.
NEXT:9" x 6", original that appeared January 13, 2005 on the Cox and Forkum website. It was also included on our book, "Black and White World III" (page 19).
Chris was happy to discover I was more than pleased to reproduce one his favorite C&F editorial cartoons as a large, colorful original (at least to the degree the 16" x 11" piece is all ink and watercolor...NOT a large photocopy merely tinted).
I'm getting a kick out of seeing small ink drawings as full blown wall pieces. I'd enjoy hearing from anyone out there who'd like one of their faves done up.

It's nice to know that in the painting above, man outlasted the mammoth, although it must have been quite a battle for a few eons.

The more I look at that mammoth, the more it reminds me of Jim Traficant in his heyday. Contrast Traficant's treatment to Rangel's "censure". There's something to be said [regarding politics] about staying on the plantation (& yes, I'm aware that by all appearances, Traficant is a stark-raving nut on a few issues--but unlike some people, he makes no attempt to hide it).

Do you remember Northern Exposure?
There was an episode where Joel (the snotty doctor) finds a perfectly preserved mammoth sticking out of glacier, reports it to some scientific society (thinking he's going to receive university acclaim for his find), & when he returns to "the scene", he finds tractor tracks & drag marks. He follows them, & finds a make-shift meat house where Walt (an older bartender) is using a chain saw to butcher it for the meat, & giant cuts of mammoth are hanging from the rafters.
Joel questions Walt, & he learns that these kinds of discoveries aren't as uncommon as he thought.
Walt says something like, "Have you ever had mammoth, Joel? It eats better than the finest aged beef available."
Absurd, but funny.

Huzzah! Both the color enlargement and the original black & white arrived today. Truly awesome! The colored one is bigger and more detailed than the image on the blog shows, and the black & white is grittier, showing the original artist's work before the final photoshop cleanup for publication. These are going to look fantastic framed together. Thanks, John!

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod's. It works well, but isn't as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that's not an issue, but if you're planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod's larger screen and better browser may be important.

I have been training for a few years now and I have to admit that protein shakes are the most important part of my diet. I think it would be difficult for me to get the right protein intake if I wasn't drinking protein shakes.
