Kind of dark for a QUIPTOON.
QUIPTOONS don't usually creep me out--& while there's nothing overtly creepy about this one, that quote combined with an illustration of old Vince gives me the heebie-jeebies. I'd feel a whole lot less disturbed if that quotation had been worked into a tribute to soldiers injured in combat.

Hey John -
Maybe for next Memorial Day, how about doing a modern take of the three revolutionary era patriots marching with drum, fife and flag where the patriots are replaced with three modern soldiers with drum, fife and flag, but with some artificial limbs.
