Went to finish

FINISH-autorep-march.jpg

The art director and I decided this piece could have an editorial feel if I used a pen and ink technique. It's not the full color cover they usually use, yet the boldness of the inkwork holds up nicely.

Steve M:

Nice! It's amazing how closely your finished piece follows the sketch. Art Directors must love that.

Kevin:

Yeah, nice job. I appreciated the symbolic absence of eyes and large hand on the guy in the sketch, but it's only in this final draft that I noticed the state being squooshed, too. He almost looks painted on the Fed.

T's mustache would've been funny but I think the way it is is more intimidating for some reason. Now we just need the big guy to sneeze into the coffee.

Terwiliger:

You're right about the moustache. The last federali I can think of who even had a 'stache was Bob Barr--he isn't the big brother type, & Georgia Dems gerrymandered him out of the House.

Besides--if all of our "Big Brothers" had moustaches, Congress would resemble a Harry Reems convention--which in turn would make it too easy to make the association with what they're REALLY doing to us.

Don't forget the grandmaster of funk (as in foul odor) Charlie Rangel.
