Local Props

The Atlanta Journal Constitution got wind of my caricatures popping up in Berlin and decided they it would make a neat little item on page 2 of the paper. Scanning the article was a bit tricky but it's mostly legible. There were no stsunning details, just the facts of how Harvey Scobie brought the Reuters photo to my attention and how these things happen where images get co-opted for uses that generally come to a surprise to the artist. Candice Dyer did a fine job of getting across the oddness of it all. Special thanks go out to her for making this a fun little ride.

Now I'm thinking about the poster business....

Terwiliger:

Had a "snarky" comment all loaded & ready to post, but thought better of it; I was afraid it might take away from what I consider to be surprisingly (yet deserved) favorable press.

Kudos.

Steve M:

Very cool!

Cowboy:

Wonderful John. Surprised the Atlanta Journal Constipation actually wrote a story and got it on the second page, no less. I did notice they took a swipe at you though. My God you might create a backlash and cause trouble! ROTFL. Congratulations again.

GarandFan:

Hmmmm...the Constipation trying to provoke a backlash?

Harvey:

If your not causing a problem, you aren't doing your job.

Keep up the good work.

Candice:

John's work is so fine and powerful that it transcends blinkered, myopic ideology -- on, ahem, both sides.
Affectionately,
Your Pravda correspondent

Rutager:

Did you have to slam the AJC? This is as close to favorable as Conservatives get.

I think it's due in part to newspaper decline, and in part to Obama backlash.

Former Obama cultists are scraping off their Obama/"Yes we can"/"Yes we did" bumper stickers, cleansing their blogs of Obama fawning, and are trying to hide their shame.

Is this what happened to you, Rex? I know you're out there. WE TOLD YOU SO.

Rutager:

Well, if Candice can do it, I guess I can, too.

Shouldn't that be "The Daily Worker"? (Or "The Daily Lazer", as the case may be.)

Kevin:

woot! Great quotes about caricatures.

And your quasi-pursuit of a fatwa-lite gave me smile. :)

Bill:

Congratulations John on some much deserved recognition.

Cowboy:

Rutager:

Are you kidding? The AJ Constipation is not even close to being conservative. I don't live there but have traveled there regularly for at least 12 years. It's a liberal hack. Just a southern version.

Rutager:

Cowboy:

Ain't that what I said? Let me rephrase (expand):

Why did you have to slam the AJC this time? It seems like for this one time, they've given a Conservative guy as positive a story as I've ever seen.

Maybe I wasn't clear, but I was trying to say that if newspapers weren't on the ropes, we never would have seen our hero get ink this good.

Thanks to newspapers' bad fortune, they're having to can their ideology for their implied goal: reporting facts.

I know the AJC is a commie rag. That's why I called them "The Daily Worker" (a defunct commie New York rag).

Thunderbottom:

Rutager:

How about "The Daily Slacker"?

Sam:

I'm downtown witcha man...pissing with the big dogs...take it all the way.

Great article! You had some good quotes in there John!

Alan:

I'm siting here in little backward South Africa(unfortunately a citizen) and recognized it on T.V too. Truly global recognition

Principlex:

Awesome. Congratulations.

Tom Wms.:

Hey John:

Don't get a big head and forget your friends (or fiends). Remember, some of know where you live.

Seriously though, what a calling card!!!

As you become a big celebrity, you are going to need a publicist. Congratulations.

Where did you guys get this classified info? Please write me back
