Funny (as usual) but:

HEY BROON
First off, I thought the visual analogy was apt. Secondly, reproducing a Watterson illustration was just plain fun. A large part of my inspiration for cartoon work can be found in Calvin and Hobbes. I particularly enjoyed the strip when Calvin would turn into Spaceman Spiff. Watterson NAILED the liveliness and scope of possibilities when Calvin went into fantasy mode, especially when it involved humongous aliens and outrageous circumstances found in classic sci-fi movies. That's the sort of freedom I seek in my cartoon work.

Watterson SHOULD be your all-time favorite comic strip god, because he's far and away the best.
I wish he'd come back.
