Goofing around with a few caricatures.
11" x 9"
inkwash on paper
This has been up before. I still like the quite nature of this piece and thought it would make a nice reminder of the kind of large paintings I still want to do.
SPECIAL NOTE: Tonight's my "Angel and Machinations" opening. I'll get some snaps from the show and share them in a day or two. Should be interesting.
Last night at Sylvia Cross' SYCAMORE PLACE GALLERY here in Decatur, I had the pleasure to show fourteen paintings to friends and patrons. It came off beautifully. While the guests enjoyed wine and Greg Connor's splendid acoustic performance, they took in my work and were very generous with they comments.
And the kicker? I sold "Transformation", "Receiving" and "Terra Mechanica II".
Thanks to all my friends who did me the honor of attending and a special shout out to Brandon Longley, the fine eye behind the camera.
And a fat, sloppy thanks to Sylvia who is the heart and soul of an invigorating showplace and is incredibly inspiring to those who know and love her. Her insightful encouragement is a gift.
I SERVED WITH THE QUATRO-9000. I KNEW THE QUATRO-9000. THE QUATRO-9000 WAS A DROID OF MINE. ZEBCO-2.7, YOU'RE NO QUATRO-9000.

I combined a figure study (oil on masonite) I did a while back with a wall texture I found in a book about the ruins of Pompeii. I played with the light intensity and the shadow depth to emphasize the emotional impact.. Too bad it's not on canvas.
Yeah? And how's that working out for you, Mr.Bazillion Percent Inflation?
This is the latest cartoon Allen Forkum and I did for his Automotive Report.
This Saturday, from 7-10pm, local musician Greg Connors will be at Sycamore Place gallery to perform his new work. He was gracious enough to perform at my opening and I hope he gets the audience he deserves. Gorgeous music from the heart.
$20 at the door will get you two cd's, wine with light fare and a heckuva show.
This group is featured in my "Angels and Machinations" show that is running until March 28 at 120 Sycamore Place Gallery here in Decatur, GA.
Each separate panel is 16" x 16" which uses a Chinese character as a basis for the trompe l'oeil tape and paper images. Each panel is oil on wood.

This painting is in my "Angels and Machinations" show at 120 Sycamore Place Gallery in Decatur, Georgia.
This is the April cover I illustrated for Allen Forkum's Nashville paper.
NOTE: I happen to prefer the '70's George Carlin.
This is a pencil rough that will be turned into a full color illustration for the next issue of Latino magazine. After submitting three different illustration ideas, this lay-out was the one that worked best. I'll post the finished piece soon.
Messing around with this little 11" x 4".
