This is my take on the legend of Prometheus. The triangle shape is the alchemical symbol for Earth.

Mmmmmm......I KNOW the red running down the wall is from the red band....but it's still disquieting visually.
Was that intended?

Shall I venture my interpretation? A hero, or demi-god, pasted onto the bloodline of history, not integrated into the mortar. An historical contrivance for naked understanding.

You should hear me sell my own art!

HEY JOAN

As Artie Johnson from Laugh In would say: "Veeeeeeery interestink"

Much of the time, my compositions are rather spare, I try to emphasize the negative space so I can involve dramatic light play,. Would it be disappointing for me to admit the red line was arbitrary? It was just a graphic device to accentuate the trompe l'oeil effect of the "illustration" and "tape".

Funny. I seem to recall that symbol was also used by Conoco during the 60s (and for quite a long time before that!).

Not disappointing a bit! Composition is king, as far as I'm concerned. The third-party interpretations are what give it an after-life.

;)

Hey, when you get an unserious moment, check this out.

Wait for the character talking about comic books...

:o)

HEY JOAN

Very funny. "Art" seems to be a mysterious thing. The fact that it has everything to do with personal interpretation is what makes the subject matter so essentially human.
